An iPad app that does it wrong
WordPress just updated their mobile App. They added a number of great features, a new layout, and a bunch of bug fixes. Sadly, they missed the feature I am seeking and they boggarded the new interface.
The feature I keep wanting is the ability to upload a photo or image, and hen get to choose which generated size to insert into the page or post. WordPress, he software, does a great job of supporting media. For each new image that is loaded, WordPress will generate a thumbnail, small, medium, and large image in addition to the original. Further, the blog administrator gets to define what the width and height extents for small, medium, and large. Most of the posts on my blogs include an optimized 500 to 600 pixel wide image which links to the full size image. When I use Postie to blog using email, it works great. When I use the WordPress App or the Blogsy App, I lose the nuance.
I’ve learned to live with it.
However, I’m baffled by the new iPad layout for WordPress. In landscape mode, it waists more than 20% of the right side of the screen and I have no idea why. This is 2012. I thought software designers figured this kind of stuff out months ago!
