What is it ? #1

I was hunting around for a box the other day, and came across the following item. The handle slides the right part toward the left. The left part is threaded and can be moved closer or further from the right by screwing it further out or in. The left end can be reversed with the other end having a smaller diameter indentation. The visible end of the right part and both ends of the left part are cylindrically conically concave.

I can’t quite tell the scale of this piece of equipment… Could it be a device for shaping/trimming lead shot for old time muskets/hand guns?

the right side “receptacle” is about 1″ in diameter. Also, when the handle moves the two parts together, they never meet – there is about a 1/2″ gap. I would say the device is from “recent history”. It looks to be from the 70’s.

AAARGH! I’ve been feeling mentally deficient because I can’t tell guess.

    Is one receptable stationary?

Sorry to everyone who thought this was a quiz. I really don’t know what it is but given the anxiety it is causing, I will toss the object in my car and start asking local merchants to see if I can hit pay dirt.

6@ “yes” – the left side is stationary but adjustable. it is threaded and rotating the left half moves if closer/further from the right half. the right half slides with the handle.
