Smuggled Coke out of China
I’ve decided I should do my spring cleaning in July this year. I got a jumpstart recently and came across two cans of Coke Cola. The unique part of this story is the logo on the can and the date on the bottom. The logo is the China label for Coke Cola. I did some searching on Google for a picture of the can but I could not find one that matched what I have. The reason seems obvious – the date on the bottom of the can is 23-September-1993 (yes, these cans are 14 years old) !
The Coke Cola log has morphed over the years and it more “western” that it was in the early nineties. My cans are almost exclusively written in Chinese. The only English is the “Coke Cola” text on one side of the label with the Chinese translation on the other side.
The taste ? It’s a bit sweeter than I think the current formula in the USA. I can’t say if the flavor is different in China and the USA or if the flavor is different in 1993 and 2007.
Do you know how the formula has changed over the past 14 years ? I’d be interesting in knowing.

Are you saying that you drank a 14 year old can of Coke from China? You are braver than I.
Well … When you put it that way … “Yes”, I did drink a 14yr old can of Coke Cola from China.
