The first aircraft carrier tests
I enjoy flying "older" airplanes but have never flown anything before the late 1930′s. I like shorter grass airstrips but have never tried anything less than about 1200 feet. I like trying new things but not necessarily being the first ever.
Combine all of these and you get the first trials of taking off and landing and airplane from an "aircraft carrier". That last bit needs to be taken with a grain of salt because it’s hard to call building a runway out of wooden planks and attaching it to the front of a battle ship "an aircraft carrier".
