What’s It # 17

I finally figured out what I wanted and here it is. The only hints I will give are (1) all the parts shown get assembled into what this is; and (2) the long pole in picture is not completely shown but is about 7 feet long. So, "what is it" ?

(clicking on the picture will show you are very large image so you can get a closer look at any of the pieces … if you think that will help)

this one is too easy, but I won’t spoil the fun by spilling the beans right away.. ;-)

No one had guessed a vuvuzella extender yet so that choice is still available :-)

  3. Ed says:

It’s so obvious – it’s an articulated pole and wooden thingy device with custom threaded bits.

    Dang.. Ed guessed my answer…

    fishing pole! where’s the string?

    • Glen says:

too funny – the PVC has a lot of wobbly flex to it. I’m a lousy fisherman and this thing won’t make me any better :-)

  6. Roy says:

what kind of bribe would it take to show it assembled?

    • Glen says:

The rods connect to either end of the “boomerang” using the pins shown. the stubby piece threads onto shorter rod.

Beyond that, the answer gets posted automatically on Thursday :-)

I think it’s some kind of special clamp for woodworking and cabinet making.

My initial thought is this assembles into some sort of protractor tool… but the pvc, particle board (who would make a protractor out of particle board), wooden bead thinggy and 7 ‘ pole that make me think otherwise. My other guess is this is a homemade piece of a tent or some other structure covered with a canvas like an awning.

    Is it Thursday yet??

    Bring on Thursday!

The post has already been written :-) I tried something new – I wrote the “what’s it” and the “answer” at the same time and used a feature of Windows Live Writer and WordPress to “future date” the answer so it’s out of my hands now. We’ll all just have to wait. … although I may add a video just because it will be so funny.

You didn’t say there’d be a video. ;-) I was hoping for a picture showing the thing all put together and ‘in action’… and a description of what it is. Now, that there’s gonna be a video, I can hardly wait!
