This is my story in 11 pictures
Update: post has been simplified to reduce bandwidth requirements
It took me a little while to pick eleven pictures. Mostly, the challenge is that I am still living out of boxes so I had to choose pictures that were already on my blog and I could not go back more than 2 years to some of my better photographs of people, places, and things, that represented the ideas I hoped to convey. In the end, I did the best I could with what I had and added captions to fill in the blanks. I also tried a few different ways of showing the images. I eventually settled on putting them directly on my blog (although I went through a phase of trying to use flickr so there are out there as well.)
Captions for the 11 …
- reach for the moon – Our world is a balance of preserving the past while reaching for the moon …
- the world is all around you – … but life is not all about achieving … there are amazing things to see if we just stop to notice …
- time does not stand still – … time does not stand still – it is a powerful motivator …
- chaos – … even chaos has its place …
- adventure in small bursts – … the earth is a very diverse place and snow is not for everyone – like our mothers told us everything in moderation – snow is fun in short bursts …
- dreamers – … the future belongs to those who dream in the face of stubborn opposition …
- see the world – .. and this world is big and has so many stories to tell and there is only so much time any one of us has …
- threads that bind – … in the end, the threads that bind us are of our own creation so we much choose wisely ….
- good food, good friends – … knowing comfort comes from good food, good friends, and the time spent to savor both …
- cowboys and farmers – … the cowboy and the farmer have more in common that either would admit ….
- friends – … through it all, friends are more important that everything else.
What’s your story – Now it’s your turn ! The idea of telling your story in 11 pictures came from an ad campaign for a samsung camera. I thought it was a fun challenge so this is my story … what is yours ?

Pretty pretty cool display mechanism. I like your selection of pictures and captions too. They capture your joyful, optimistic approach to living.
I’ve been thinking about “my eleven” and have been kind of stuck.. Your post has provided me with more possibilities than I was originally thinking of..
R – I’m especially looking forward to you’re 11. I know you could take the project in so many different directions and with your photographic talent, they’d all be stunning.
