I’ve blogged about how the NBC Evening News is available via a podcast download and using WGET and CRON to download it automatically. The scheduled download is setup on the Popcorn Hour but it still runs on the ReadyNAS. They run at different times and last night they caught something different – different news that is.

NBC records the East coast news at 6:30pm and then replays it for the West coast three hours later. Occasionally they do an "insert" of perhaps 5 seconds or so for some correction or breaking story. Last night, they rewrote nearly half of the news.
