I was talking to one of the banks on Thursday and they kept thinking I wanted to build a commercial building and they’d be happy to loan me the money at 8.5% variable ! If I wanted to build a house, I would qualify for 6.25% and could get a 15y fixed.
So, I said I’d [...]

The source for my post’s title is a book by Sarah Susanka. I am in the midst of designing a new home. At the same time, I am watching all of these “dream homes”, “home improvements”, “this old house”, “rezoned”, etc. shows of TV. The TV shows keep showing bigger and bigger homes - [...]

I think, if the woman in the Kohler commercial has pulled a pre-rinse faucet out of her hand back - an impossible feat [...]

I’m building my kitchen around a Jen-Air 48″ wide pro-style stainless steel range. But that’s jumping right into the middle of a story. Lets go back a little …. (cue wavy picture and dreamy music)
I’ve been holding my breath for a couple months now or a JB would say “I’m literally holding my breadth” [...]

Google made quick work of this “what’s it” - so much so I had to edit Roy’s nearly instantaneous post to hid the answer. You may recall I am designing the closest think to a “private commercial” kitchen as I can and still have it feel like a home. The post about the pre-rinse [...]
