Build a house around ‘this’

I decided I should do a parody on the Kohler ad that depicts a pair of snooty DINKs* visiting a gallery and talking with an egotistical architect.

In my case, I won’t be using some fancy pants faucet. I am building a “working kitchen” and the emphasis is on the WORKING. I have not yet settled on the faucet but I am close.

I have a few serial decisions to make. The counter tops will be dictated by the size of the range and the size of the sink. Once those items are identified, then the counter can be selected and the faucet can be chosen. The issue to all of this is “sizing” and “positioning” so the order is important. I should know more in a couple of weeks. In the meantime, I’ll have to start auditioning characters for the parody. Around here, there are plenty of “characters” <grin>.

BTW: for those offended by my use of the four letters “D-I-N-K” it is not an anatomical slander for the ad’s characters but rather a reference to the 1980’s term for “double income, no kids”. “DINK” cam in the chronology preceded by YUPPies and followed by PODWoGPs.

Yes, I had sort of the anti-Yuppie experience this summer. The faucet on my sink had to be replaced, and once the new faucet was installed and I’d polished the sink I figured I could live another year with the same shabby kitchen.

Can’t wait to see what your kitchen looks like. I’m relying on you for inspiration.

What’s a PODWoGP? Poor Old Dude without German Pointers? Part of Day without Great Pug? Even Google didn’t have PODWoGP

Hi Dawson - my dad can’t type ! It’s should read “PODWoG” (no pee). I’ll go fix it. It’s short for “parents of DINKs without grandchildren”.

Ah..makes sense. Sort of. Human language so complicated. Imagine a dog language character set and keypad interface on your iphone. Hair, teeth, ears, voice, tail..a few options for each and, voila, a dog communcation system.

iPhone ? .. Oh, yeah. I’ve heard about those things. “They do work here.”

ooooh-ooh. I had a great engineering brainstorm. Gosh, I am gifted!

You know how the human phone can display a picture of the person who is calling? Picture ID, right? Our dog phones (dphones) will have Smell ID. When you call, I will get a whiff of.. well… YOU. That way I will know who is calling. And when I want to call you, I will scroll through the contact smells til I find you. Golly gee. Why has no one thought of this yet?
