Pure guess here - in “Life On Mars”, Sam wakes up in 1973, but this watch didn’t come on the market until 1980.

@5 GOLD STAR ! According to the Casio website, the AQ-500 “analog digital” was introduced in 1982 and the storyline takes place in 1973.
