The dreaded 800 / 888 confusion

I must have fat fingered my password one too many times to get access to my corporate network using our “very secure” VPN. The result was “Your Connection Manager account has been locked.” As a good corporate citizen, I would normally log a support ticket with the helpdesk website but of course, without connectivity, I could not. The backup plan was to call the helpdesk.

I thought the helpdesk was at 1-800-IBM-HELP. It’s not ! The recording on the other end of the phone was very professional but it was definitely not our corporate helpdesk. If you want to know what company is at that number ,dial it for yourself … just not from your office line <grin>
