   It’s because the world changed after September 11th, blah blah.

   Seriously, market forces were removed after September 11th by the government bailing out airlines. So even by removing better service, customers have been unable to make other choices.

   It is ridiculous. It will change though, it just needs one airline big enough to do it. It just needs some good competition, perhaps if the US market opened itself up to more foreign airlines it would help.

   I read that airlines are going to start charging to check more than one bag — perhaps because the overhead bins aren’t full enough.
