No shop talk !
My blogging has dropped off a bit over the past couple of months. It is mostly because I have been really interested in a few projects at work but because of the nature of the work, I can’t write publicly about it. It’s not the old “I could tell you but then I’d have to shoot you” kind of stuff. Rather it falls into that category of “everything you do and even just think about is the property of the company”. I can live with it as long as they don’t squander the ideas - which is most likely just what will happen. If/when it does, I will be free to write about it but by then it will be old news.
So the question is “what to write about”. I have a few more posts in me related to running Linux on my personal computers. They will trickle out over the next few weeks. If you are dieing for a preview - all I will say is I’ve switched my parent’s computer back to Windows and it may not be the last to get converted. I’ve learned a lot by running Ubuntu Linux for the past five months and it has not all be good … but it has made me a better computer user.
I just bought a media center “device” this weekend. As with most everything besides tractors and groceries, if you live on the Eastern Shore, odds are good you know the FedEx and UPS delivery schedules by heart. The reason is “mail order” is not an option, it’s the rule. Thus, I’ll hold off writing about my purchase for when it arrives.
So, I’m not writing about work or Linux, or mail order purchases …. what does that leave ? …
ZEN !
Valentines Day is just around the corner it Zen wanted some pictures of her to send to her Valentine - Dibs. Zen has known Dibs for about 2-1/2 years now but she doesn’t get to se him much. It’s one of those long distance relationships. Zen always gets excited this time of year and trims down any “winter weight” to look her best. Today she went on a hike through the farm woods (which will become trails this spring). I figured that would keep her settled for the rest of the day but Zen wanted to burn off even more energy so this afternoon we went out with her Monsters Inc. ball. (The ball, by the way, washed up on the shore this winter so it has that great outdoors smell that Zen loves.)
