Sunday morning thoughts: Lyrics without music
The “one laptop per child” program has a laudable goal - to educate children - all children - everywhere. Think about that for a moment. What would this world be like if we have twice as many environmental scientists, teachers, geneticists, engineers, researchers, etc. ? Education is one of the keys to unlocking this potential. Obviously it’s not the only requirement but where will we be without it …
We live in a country with many ups and downs
We have billionaires, middle class, and poor
The best and the brightest – some young and some old
Have united to try and once again to do moreFor years our nations have fought to be first
to reach the stars, claim land, and dominate the seas
we now understand me must change for the good
we have too long squandered and brought this planet to its kneesO-L-P-C
where oh where in the world will you be
with “give - one - get - one”
we educate children we may never see
O-L-P-C
where oh where in the world will you beOur only hope are our children all across the world
We must educate them so they are ready for action
They will need to do what we have not
come together for our planet, without distractionO-L-P-C
where oh where in the world will you be
with “give - one - get - one”
we educate children we may never see
O-L-P-C
where oh where in the world will you beA computer is just a tool, but the XO is more
It does not react to race, or geography, or land
It connects people – all people – everywhere
and together the next generation could live hand in handO-L-P-C
where oh where in the world will you be
with “give - one - get - one”
we educate children we may never see
O-L-P-C
where oh where in the world will you beO-L-P-C
where oh where in the world will you be
with “give - one - get - one”
we educate children we may never see
O-L-P-C
where oh where in the world will you be
