iPod Home Theater

I finally received my Griffin TuneCenterPro. If any of you have heard of this thing, you may recall it was *supposed* to ship in April/June of 2006 (not 2007) !

I foolishly pre-ordered. Usually, when you pre-order a product, the company notifies you when it is finally available. Griffin figured after a year of delays, most customers would have made other arrangements and would decline the product. So, they chose to just charge customers’ credit cards and ship it without any advanced notice. That ticked me off a little but not enough to reject the shipment.

I’ve connected the TuneCenter to my home theater. For the past year, I have been converting my DVD’s and TV shows to my iPod in preparation of this eventual day. I put the highest resolution widescreen content possible on the iPod. The results are not stellar but they are acceptable given I am blowing the images up to a 119″ screen (yes, a TEN FOOT screen). DVD’s look unbelievable and HD content really is a theater experience - so I expected the iPod to let me down a bit - I’m a realist.

Here is the results showing the TuneCenter playing music and playing a movie (the screen is a bit more than 20′ away so there is a crop of just the screen below)  …
