I was talking to one of the banks on Thursday and they kept thinking I wanted to build a commercial building and they’d be happy to loan me the money at 8.5% variable ! If I wanted to build a house, I would qualify for 6.25% and could get a 15y fixed.

So, I said I’d put together a few renderings of the current draft design along with the floor plan and send it to the bank for review. My hope is they will see it as a residential project.

The design gives me a 34′x44′ ranch style home with an oversized workshop and garage all under one roof. There is also a full length front porch. Eventually, I would plan to enclose a portion of the porch for an 3-season outdoor kitchen / dining area.
